Sponsorship Coordinator

GLSEN Washington State is currently seeking to contract with a Sponsorship Coordinator or Commercial Fundraiser that can perform the tasks below. This expert should have a background in non-profit fundraising and any other necessary skills to perform the required duties.
Duties for this position would be as follows:
1. Work closely with the board and management team to develop the 2012 sponsor package.
2. Identify new avenues for sponsorship opportunities
a. Potential Companies
b. Potential Organizations
c. Marketing Dollar Sources
d. Philanthropic Donation Sources
3. Begin selling the 2012 sponsor package to potential sponsors and philanthropic dollars, including previous year's sponsors and/or donors.
4. Work directly with the sponsor/donor to execute contracts where applicable
5. Work with GLSEN Washington State committees to fulfill contractual obligations:
a. FunDevelopment Committee
b. Management Team
6. Provide a monthly update in the form of a report to the board:
a. Selling Progress
b. Fulfillment Progress
Compensation:
Compensation for this contract will adhere to industry standards for marketing and philanthropic dollars and should be based on the duties and responsibilities, compensation is negotiable. Please ensure that your requirements are listed out in your response to this request.
Grant Writer
GLSEN Washington State is currently seeking to contract with a Grantwriter that can perform the tasks below. This expert should have a background in non-profit grantwriting and any other necessary skills to perform the required duties. This position is currently "per grant." In the future, it is anticipated that as the organization grows, the position will mature morph into something else with other responsibilities. Position Summary:
Develop, implement, and manage a grantwriting program. Responsible for researching, writing, and building relationships with current and potential funders.
Essential Functions:
--Write, edit, and prepare grant applications and proposals to various funding sources including corporations, foundations, and government entities
--Develop, implement, and manage a grant tracking system to ensure open communication, timely reporting, and donation stewardship
--Identify, research, prioritize and make recommendations for grant funding opportunities that organization programs and initiatives (including in-kind opportunities)
--Identify donor prospects through suggestions from staff, past and current Board members, existing donors, and colleagues
--Prepare introductory mailings to prospective donors, and coordinate follow-up activities
--Coordinate direct mail solicitations
--Prepare acknowledgment letters
--Maintain donor files
--Respond to queries, electronic and otherwise, from prospective donors
--Assist the Management with developing/implementing the annual fundraising plan
--Assist, as needed, with the development of promotional materials
--Assist, as needed, with the overall maintenance of the organization and its office
--Participate on behalf of GLSEN Washington in community activities and organizations
--Responsible for conducting activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation and corporate sources
--Perform prospect research on foundations and corporations to evaluate prospects
--Comply with all grant reporting as required by foundation/corporate funders
--Assist the Management Team in scheduling and preparing visits to foundations, and accompany when feasible
--Prepare grant award summaries for internal tracking and accounting purposes
--Maintain current records in database and in paper files, including grant tracking and reporting
--Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
--Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
--Demonstrated record of successful grant writing / fundraising
--Ability to work well in a team environment
--Excellent public speaking and writing skills
--Strong interpersonal skills to ensure effective interactions with individuals at all levels and backgrounds
--Experience in development and administration of budgets and work plans
--Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize deadlines, work independently, take initiative, and maintain confidentiality
--Satisfactory results from criminal background search
--Strong written communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive funding proposals
--Attention to detail
