Letter From GLSEN Tampa
GLSEN Tampa engages in a variety of activities to support our mission. Some of our 2011 activity highlights have included providing a 6-hour workshop for school psychologists, hosting a Breaking the Silence Rally for LGBT youth following April's Day of Silence event, and supporting No Name Calling Week poster contests in Hillsborough and Pasco County Schools. We are looking to expand opportunities for volunteering, as there are lots of events and activities to participate in and plan in order to support our LGBT youth and assist our schools' efforts to create safe and welcoming environments for all students. If you are interested in becoming involved in our chapter, please start out by attending one of our meetings (every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6:30 PM at Metro Wellness & Community Center in Ybor City).
