Day of Silence Organizing Manual” & cards – this manual provides all the information you need to plan and sponsor the Day of Silence at your school. Gay-Straight Alliance Resource Handbook” – provides information about starting a GSA club, and a collection of materials for GSA leaders to help them with club activities throughout the school year. Published by GLSEN Richmond.

Guia de Recurso Para Salir Del Closet” (Spanish – “Guide to Coming Out”). Booklet published by HRC (Human Rights Campaign).

From Our House to the Schoolhouse: Families & Educators Partnering for Safe Schools” – this booklet discusses what is known about anti-gay harassment and abuse at school, legal basis for stopping anti-gay harassment, a safe schools checklist, and resources. Published by PFLAG (Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays).

Lesbian Health Resource Guide” – a booklet which lists local health care providers by medical specialty and other resources for lesbians. Published by the Lesbian Outreach Project of the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation.

Nuestras hijas y nuestros hijos” (Spanish – “Our Sons & Daughters”) – booklet provides information and advice for parents of gays, lesbians, and bisexuals. Published by PFLAG (Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays).

Preguntas y Respuestas Sobre el Derecho al Matrimonio” (Spanish -discusses issues related to the fight for marriage equality). Published by HRC (Human Rights Campaign).

ROSMY: Richmond Organization for Sexual Minority Youth” – this card provides basic information about the services and support provided for Richmond’s gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth ages 14-20. Published by ROSMY.

Stopping Harassment in the Hallways – a series of handouts designed to provide practical advice and steps to end anti-gay harassment in school hallways. Includes “Students: What to do if you are being harassed”, “Students: What to do if you see a student being harassed,” and “Staff: How to handle harassment in the hallways in 3 minutes!”. Published by GLSEN Colorado.

Youth Resource Guide” – this guide compiles organizations available nationally for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender youth. Categories include: Health Concerns; Youth Groups; Parent/Child Support; Legal Matters; Drug/Alcohol Abuse; Suicide Prevention & Emotional Support; Transgender/Intersex/Gender Issues; Political; Religious Tolerance; and Multicultural/Ethnic.
