GLSEN Pittsburgh, the local chapter of The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, is seeking a part-time training professional to fill the role of Training Program Coordinator.
GLSEN is the leading national education organization focused on ensuring safe schools for all students regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.
The Training Program Coordinator will lead the development, evaluation and delivery of current and future educational program offerings for K-12 students, teachers, counselors, administrators and social workers/health professionals. The focus of the training programs is to help K-12 school personnel build skills, appropriately modify curriculum, enact policy changes, and learn appropriate behaviors to eliminate sexual orientation and gender-biased bullying in schools.
The preferred candidate should have a B.S. or B. A. in Education or a related field with experience teaching, training, or facilitating programs for adults and/or youth. A Master’s Degree is desirable but relevant experience will be considered. The selected candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of LGBT-specific issues and challenges, especially as they apply to education.
