GLSEN/PFLAG Speakers Bureau The Omaha chapters of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) and Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) have collaborated to create an informative, unique presentation that educates participants about creating safe schools/spaces for all people regardless of sexual orientation. Since January of 1999, we have given over 40 presentations to nearly 1,000 people. We are helping to create safe schools because we believe that bigotry in our schools IS wrong.

If you teach a course on human relations or have a class on diversity or simply want additional information when discussing sexual orientation issues, we would like to have the opportunity to give our presentation to your class or organization. The full presentation takes two hours. The first hour provides participants with researched foundational information which provides an educational framework regarding gay, lesbian and bisexual issues. Handouts are provided. Following this presentation, four to five invited volunteers answer questions from the participants in a panel format.

Scheduling To schedule a presentation, please call (402) 333-7064 and ask for the GLSEN/PFLAG Speakers Bureau. Please remember the full presentation requires two hours. If you cannot schedule the full time in one session, please let us know so we can divide the presentation into two sessions.
