Robbie Kirkland Creative Writing Contest

$250 Prize to Be Awarded

Jan 16, 2008

The Robbie Kirkland Creative Writing Contest has been conducted annually since 1997 by GLSEN Northeast Ohio. Creative writing entries, up to 500 words in length, are accepted in the forms of short fiction, poetry, essay or song lyrics.

Students enrolled in grades 9 through 12 are eligible to participate.

Entries should reflect awareness of, or concern for, issues of inclusion and respect as they apply to gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered persons, as well as their straight allies. Judging is based on the reflection of that theme.

Creative Writing Contest entries must be postmarked by April 15, 2008. The winner willl be notified in May 2008, and the prize presented at GLSEN Northeast Ohio's Annual Awards Dinner in June 2008.
