Apply for Our Student Leadership Team

GLSEN Hudson Valley’s Student Leaders, Alyssa and Marissa, are looking for students throughout the Hudson Valley interested in creating a Student Leadership Team to focus on creating safe schools for all regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.

The Student Leadership Team will meet periodically throughout the year to socialize, plan projects, learn new skills, and attend events and trainings.

The application can be filled out online and emailed or printed and mailed to the address on the form. The application deadline is October 30, 2009.

Being a student leader has been an amazing experience for me, I’m beginning to learn a lot of new
things about running meetings, leading discussions, being responsible, the proper ways of emailing and a ton more. Being part of GLSEN Hudson Valley is amazing and it would be great to get more kids! Please consider applying if you have a heart for safer schools for LGBT kids and if you want to start a movement towards that safety. We have a blast at meetings and we are all so nice- so I think you should apply to join us!

Working with GLSEN is an amazing opportunity to extend your help to the local LGBT community, and to ensure that everyone feels safe in their school regardless of sexual orientation and/or gender identity/expression. GLSEN Hudson Valley has given me a sense of accomplishment, and continues to remind me that regardless of my age, I can still impact the community in a positive way. Working with GLSEN Hudson Valley will help to develop skills you already have, and help you learn skills you may not. I truly hope you choose to fill out this application and join our amazing team.
